The University of Hong Kong recognizes the value and importance of academic advising and has in place a comprehensive University-wide Academic Advising System to support undergraduate students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
Set up in 2011, the mission of the Academic Advising Office (AAO) is to promote the academic success and development of students. Quality and personal service is offered to support students in navigating their university education and seeking guidance from different academic advisers and the campus network along their learning journey.
AAO also plays a key role in the implementation of advising policies and the development of the University-wide Academic Advising System. Our objective is to ensure smooth running of the system, efficient support to the Faculties and produce advising resources to teachers assigned as academic advisers. In addition, the Office provides administrative support to the University Academic Advising & First Year Experience Committee, which oversees the overall academic advising strategies for undergraduate students. To render all-round support to students, we work closely with CEDARS, halls of residence and Colleges, Common Core Curriculum Office, International Affairs Office, Scholarships Office as well as other offices on campus.
