Sharing Session on Academic Advising Issues (May 2013)

Workshop Highlights


This event provided an analysis on students recommended for discontinuation or withdrawal of study and concerns in the rise in the number of cases. Discussion followed on identifying academically at-risk students, the importance of early detection through the academic advising system, and new initiatives impacting the residential experience and academic performance. Experienced colleagues also shared recent cases that involved programme/faculty transfer and special counselling. They specifically explained how partnering with support units and academic staff helped.
