Dear New Student,

A few weeks passed and you should have attended a few Common Core classes. How do you feel about them?

It is not uncommon for Year One students to find the Common Core courses challenging in view of the amount of readings and the variety of new learning experiences involved, such as field trips, reflective journals, making videos and doing group presentations, etc.. If you feel the same way, this workshop is for you:

Success Strategies for the Common Core

Time: 5:45 pm to 7:00 pm
Venue: MB 218, Main Building

This playful and interactive workshop will provide you with an introduction to assessment methods and practical advice for a successful learning experience in the Common Core. Through group activities, Professor Gray Kochhar-Lindgren, the Director of Common Core Curriculum, will demonstrate a typical learning environment and the skills for active participation in class and tutorials. AAO will also highlight key academic skills and explain how to find academic support and get a right start on your study. In fact, this is the second time we run this Workshop. Let’s see what students said last year:

“It is my first time in HKU to see that the lecturer successfully managed to activate everyone to participate.”

“Great workshop – very thankful I signed up!”

“The speaker appears to be outstanding and humorous!”
