All undergraduate students

What was the aim of the Fair?

HKU’s new undergraduate curriculum provides flexibility for students to design their own combination of disciplinary majors, minors and electives within and outside their home Faculties with guidance from academic advisers. The aim of the Fair was to provide an opportunity for students to explore different major and minor options.

What is its aim?

To provide an opportunity for students to explore different major and minor options available at the University

Dear Student,

Choosing a major and / or a minor will be one of the most important academic decisions you make. How can you make the choice that is best for you? Is it necessary to link your major with your future career? If you have these questions in mind, these two information briefings are for you:

Majors and Minor: How to Decide?
Speaker: Dr. Amy Lewis, Academic Adviser, Academic Advising Office
Date: November 20 (Wednesday)
Time: 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm

Majors and Your Career: Does it Matter?

Dear Student,

Choosing a major and / or a minor will be one of the most important academic decisions you make. How can you make the choice that is best for you? To help you explore the wide spectrum of major and minor options which are made available under the new open curriculum, the Academic Advising Office (AAO) will organize the “When ‘Major’ Meets ‘Minor’ Fair”:

Date: November 20 (Wednesday)
Time: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Venue: Student Advisory Services Zone (Zone R), 2/F, Chi Wah Learning Commons, Centennial Campus

During the Fair, you can attend information briefings conducted by the Academic Advising Office, CEDARS (Careers & Placement) and teachers from different Faculties on the major/ minor options offered by their Faculties. There will also be academic advisers, Faculty administrators and careers advisers to attend to your enquiries. Student representatives from various major/minor programmes will also be there to share with you their insider’s views and first-hand experience.
